A lot of your songs have a sort of night feel to it. Very unique sound.

Redse7en responds:

Thanks. I wrote the songs that way to go with a comic I was working on at the time. The comic never really panned out, but now I'm working on writing it into a book series. Just finished my second book this year and already working on the third :) It's one of the only reasons I still dabble in music every now and then.

It's an older song but for some reason just sticks in mind a lot. It's very peaceful despite being repetitive.

Redse7en responds:

Thanks :) I find myself going back every once in a while to listen to my stuff and this one always stands out to me too. I'll be the first to admit that I'm the worst when it comes to repetitive songs. My new stuff is just as repetitive, but then again I don't put nearly as much time into writing any more.

Thanks for the review! Hope you got some new stuff for me to check out!

Really like the melody. Could use some more lower sounds to balance out the frequency mix though. All the main instruments are so high that it sounds a bit like a highpass was placed over the track.

ErikMcClure responds:

I'd like to point out that this song is *six years old* so critiquing it at this point is kind of pointless, but what happened is that I had no idea what I was doing. Bass takes up a lot of headroom, so in order to push the volume of the song up I simply didn't have very many low frequencies because I didn't know how to mix properly.

Great stuff

Bosa responds:

I am most grateful.

Very peaceful. Thanks for sharing. :D

VGSongbird responds:

Thank YOU for listening ^_^

Reminds me a bit of ZeroBass's stuff from a while back. Any influences? Especially the higher piano melodies that echo in here and there.

Waterflame responds:

Haven't heard it, sorry! But I'll check it out :)

Love the vocals and creepiness. Reminds me a bit of Blake Robinson's stuff.

newhansen responds:

Wow, indeed. I didnt know him. Sounds nice though ^^

Really enjoyed listening to it. You're very good at layering the strings/brass. Not sure why you're always downplaying your songs - just assuming it's sarcasm there. :P

Bosa responds:

Lol you know me too well now.

Pretty pleasant. I think you know already that the left hand could be varied pattern-wise, but you seem to have a good sense of the chords you want to use at least (I admit my own stuff tends to over-use the same chords and patterns lol).

Did you play it live? It sounds a little quantized. I remember I used to get a lot of flak for not playing exactly to metronome, so I would quantize my playing a lot, only to regret it later because the playing sounded very mechanical.

Everratic responds:

I know that the chords could be more varied, but I ran out of time :(

I actually cannot play piano, or any other instrument. All of this was done in fl studio's piano roll. I agree that is sounds very mechanical. I might go back to this project another time and make these edits.

Thank you for the review!

Really liked the strings and the shift at 1:30. Are they performed live?

NickPerrin responds:

Hi - they're not performed live, just very meticulously sequenced...
Cheers!

I can't play an instrument to save my life, but I can keep pecking at those notes until I get them right! :P
